Newsworthy is our regular news update. Instead of killing your inboxes with re-hashed press releases or junk you don’t need, we’ll pull out a few interesting products, stories and other things we stumbled across from recent times, write our thoughts on them and let you read the info for yourself.
SWMotech have released a new luggage collection aimed at the retro styled bike boom and we love it. We love it mostly because it looks good, but after our amazing off-road test of Ducati’s Scrambler, we could actually envisage a bike of that ilk being an incredibly enjoyable way to travel. The relaxed, easy going nature of modern classically styled bikes brings a new light to the way you ride and it was fantastically refreshing.
We’re clearly not the only people thinking like that. The range of products have been designed with an old-school military webbing style attachment. They can subsequently fit to any bike and be removed and re-fitted easily. They come with waterproof inner bags and an array of product numbers that confused the hell out of us. The collection includes tank bags, iPhone bags, a tail pack and saddle bags that can be mounted with or without a pannier rail (model dependant).
The pannier rail version (LC1 and LC2) can be bought as a bike-specific kit that will fit the BMW RnineT, Triumph Scrambler, Thruxton 900, Bonneville T100, Moto Guzzi V7 and the Ducati Scrambler. Kits for the new generation Triumphs and Yamaha’s XSR are coming soon.
If you fancy deciphering it all for yourself and getting the full tech specs of the SW Motech luggage, you can read the press release here.
