Yamaha Tenere 700 World Raid | Review

The T7 World Raid is here. It’s heavier, taller, and significantly more expensive. I headed to Spain to attempt translate the spec sheet…

The T7 is a bike I am very fond of. I am profoundly aware of it’s limitations but I’m okay with them when it’s kind on my wallet. For the same reason I like the CRF 250/300L. Limited but functional for the price.

The pricing pits against bikes with a lot more tech that are also very good.

When a bike like the T7 changes something about the winning formula, it complicates the conversation. It’s not a cheap bike anymore. The pricing pits against bikes with a lot more tech that are also very good. The Tiger 900 Rally, the KTM 890 ADV R etc. What made the T7 stand out is gone.

The TLDR of this video is, the T7 is better at certain things, worse at others. The weight is noticeable, the suspension much better at everything and it is still very much a T7. I hate the new thumbwheel. It does not execute the ‘tech experience’ like a Triumph, KTM or BMW. The extra fuel and suspension is a questionable £2k upgrade but now this bike is better fit for actually exploring the world.
