Yamaha WR 250 F – Review

Yamaha’s WR 250 F is updated for 2022. It’s still blue, still fast and, on paper at least, great value. This is what we found out.

Yamaha occupy an interesting place in the dirt bike market currently. They’re one of the biggest brand son our blue marble for motorcycles. They produce some absolute rippers, including the Tenere 700 which has taken the world by storm. In the last 5-6 years they’ve found their stride, are consistently turning out wonderful bike but importantly, they’re turning out a lot of wonderful bikes at a good price point.

The WR 250F for 2022 slots into that quite nicely. As you’ll gather form the review, it’s good at a lot of things, but it’s also great value. It’s between £900-1000.00 cheaper than the nearest competitor bike. That is significant. It’s a good bike out of the box, but it could be an incredible, personalised, machine of perfection for a just a little more than that. We’re talking suspension re-valve, a clutch weight and an exhaust system kind of difference. These things are not to be sniffed at.

Now, wether the WR 250F is the bike for you always depends on your riding. It’s got some big positives and some negatives, so you’ll need to weigh those up but the price in an enduro market where some bikes are tickling £10,000, is really hard to ignore.
